Again, the Ring card is specifically about promises and agreements; agreed partnerships, arrangements, deals, bonds. The energy of the card is that there is a sense of duty and obligation involved; perhaps of membership or a vow made. So it’s really a card of allegiance and alliance, but this is a bond or partnership that comes with strings and commitments attached.
The Dog, on the other hand, is about friendship, support. Loyalty and partnership, but on the basis of that friendship and trust rather than an agreement. Often, this is something that has grown over time; the card has the energy of true, often unselfish, companionship rather than a deal or obligation.
