Lozzy’s Lenormand Weekly Reading – 3/9/18

The cards I drew for my personal Lenormand weekly reading this week were as follows:

Scythe – Stars – Book – Clouds – Coffin

As I didn’t specify a keycard, and I don’t appear in this reading as significator, I will use the central card, the Book, as the keycard.

Initial Interpretation

Keycard: BOOK

The “theme” of the reading is therefore: a book, learning, knowledge, secrets.

As I am currently writing a book (a novel) and it is in the forefront of my mind, I am going to make the assumption for the purposes of this reading that it is indeed my actual book being referred to.

Reading all the cards individually gives me:

Decision (Scythe); hopes & dreams, stars (Stars); book (Book); confusion (Clouds); finality, ending (Coffin)

A decision about hopes/stars for this book and the ending of confusion.

In more detail:

First, we read immediately around the keycard:

Book + Clouds: Book confusion, indecision

Stars + Book: Bestseller, successful book, the “stars” in the book

Confusion or indecision about how to make the book successful or the stars* in the book (see below)

Then the cards to the left and to the right in pairs:

Scythe + Stars: Positive decision, stars decision

Scythe + Book: Book decision

A positive decision is made about the book; the decision about the stars is made

Clouds + Coffin: Clarity, problems resolve

Book + Coffin: Final book? Book’s ending?

Clarity is reached and problems resolve; it is the ‘final book’

Finally, we use the mirroring technique on cards 1 +5 and 2 + 6

Scythe + Coffin: Final decision

Stars + Clouds: Stars confusion, lack of direction

A final decision clears up confusion or lack of direction re: the stars

This Week’s Prediction:

You’ll be making a final decision on your book and find clarity with regard to the central “stars” issue which you’ve been unsure of.

INITIAL COMMENTS

I am almost 100% certain this refers to the fiction book I am currently writing. The reason I think the Stars card is significant and probably literal in this case is that although it is not science fiction, key sections of my book heavily reference modern astronomy and star exploration. I have been able to write around the details of the science so far and be vague, but I have been umming and ahhing about a particular aspect of it that is crucial to decide on. I know that in order to take the book forward I now need to use the research to make that final decision and be exact about it as it will affect the way the story develops going forward. I really do hope this week is the week I nail it, as it’s been bugging me for a while.

Let’s see. I shall update at the end of the week.

Update:

I did make a decision about that aspect of the book. I’ve also made the decision to cut a whole character perspective. I think Stars + Book might have simply referred to a character, which I’ve cut.
