Here, we have worries, problems, concerns, issues that are undermining or destructive in some way, at the centre of our reading. Around this appears to be new life experiences, changes with regard to what has been known all our lives. The Lily also points to older people in particular experiencing problems due to something new, and destructive coming into the picture, something that threatens to undermine the fabric of our daily lives and bring change along with it.
