Enterprise, Action, Thought (Diamonds)
Letter-Stars-Child-Book-Dog
At the heart of this reading is the Child. You may start a new enterprise or be a beginner at something. Stay open to new adventures. The cards mirroring around that show that it may involve getting supportive news or help with what you write (Letter-Dog), and your dreams of learning or discovering a secret, even writing a particular book (Stars-Book).
From left to right, the cards predict news about your ambitions, writing them down or even your hopes for your writing (Letter-Stars), and being a newbie for a new goal (Stars-Child), which is about learning or discovering something, being a student (Child-Book), and being given useful advice, support or information, or even just reading a helpful book. (Book-Dog).
Update: Was I a beginner? Not sure really, but I certainly gained a LOT of wisdom this year about goals and dreams and higher purpose, and my creative pool of writing got larger and more purposeful.
Survival, Challenges, Problems (Clubs)
Clover-Snake-Man-Ship-Bear
At the heart of this reading is a Man or men in your life who may be involved with problems for you this year. The cards mirroring around him suggest material good fortune and opportunities, luck in terms of being protected and power (Clover-Bear) but problems either with getting things moving or something overseas (Snake-Ship).
Sadly, there does appear to be bad luck in the mix, and a man who becomes a problem (Clover-Snake, Snake-Man). He could well be overseas and have something to do with trade (Man-Ship), and possibly the cost of shipping (Ship-Bear), or a powerful move.
Update: My interpretation seemed to suggest a male enemy, but in fact I had more support from male figures, although other readings I did elsewhere did suggest a male enemy in the frame connected with business who started showing up later in the year. There were trading issues for sure, and other readings I have done suggest a male figure who is influencing that in some way.
Structure, Practicality (Spades)
Heart-Key-Coffin-Moon-Scythe
At the heart of this reading is the Coffin, so it’s about endings, finishing things, perhaps. You may have to cut something you love (Heart-Scythe), and how you feel about it and what you create is key (Key-Moon). A significant passion comes to an end (Heart-Key, Key-Coffin), ending it is the answer, and it’ll be emotional (Coffin-Moon), and possibly emotionally painful or hurtful to deal with (Moon-Scythe).
Update: Possibly some reputational issues starting to occur here, lots of creativity and having to make choices; a theme that came up in several other spreads.
Emotions, Ideals, Love (Heart)
Rider-Birds-Crossroads-Cross-Mice
At the heart of this reading is the Crossroads, so you will have choices to make about the ideal path to go down. The cards mirroring each other around this show that worries, losses or nerves are likely to arrive (Rider-Mice), and there may be some heavy or difficult conversations about responsibilities (Birds-Cross).
Communication arrives or discussion ensues (Rider-Birds), possibly multiple discussions, about options (Birds-Crossroads). Each appears to come with its own burdens (Crossroads-Cross), or perhaps you may suffer from option paralysis, find having to choose a burden, and this is likely to add extra pressure and be stressful (Cross-Mice).
Update: Again, the issue of making choices, addressing worries and losses, and getting burdened with responsibilities. Option paralysis certainly was a big issue and block for me this year.
Additional Information – Playing Cards
Enterprise, Action, Thought (Diamonds)
Letter-Stars-Child-Book-Dog
Extra Card: Ring
With the additional Ring card, to be read with the only diamond in the reading, the Book, the additional message here is: “Commit to learning”.
Update: Yep, and I certainly did!
Survival, Challenges, Problems (Clubs)
Clover-Snake-Man-Ship-Bear
With the additional Sun card to be read with the only Club in the reading, the Bear, this gives us an extra message which suggests “Material success and power; building up strength”.
Update: This was all about building up assets, which I did in some ways, and lost in others. There were certainly issues about handling power and needing to gain the upper hand.

Heart-Key-Coffin-Moon-Scythe

Emotions, Ideals, Love (Heart)
Rider-Birds-Crossroads-Cross-Mice
With the additional Anchor card to be read with the only Heart in the reading, the Rider, this gives us an extra message of “Something arrives which’ll be ongoing or permanent.”
Update: Again, this was about looking at the long-term, and addressing anything new that comes up with a view to the long term, to creating more stability.
OVERALL MESSAGE FOR THE YEAR (Extra Cards)
Ring-Sun-Anchor
“Success and happiness, which requires long term commitment. A positive commitment will bring long term success.”
Update: All about commitment and advice, really, more than a prediction, as I didn’t feel it was the most successful year all in all.
